El Cortijo
The Cortijo consists of sandy bottom scattered with large boulders. The main attraction is two large boulders, one standing 10 meters proud off the seabed, the other 8 meters tall on the north of the bigger boulder. The smaller boulder has a small cave which usually home some large groupers and moray eels.
The reef lies about a mile out from Sandy Bay, in 32 meters of water. Other clubs call the site "Peter Ives' Pinnacle" named in memory of a member from the BSAC 317/S club, who sadly passed away.
