New Flame

The New Flame was a tanker that was carrying scrap metal, which collided with the Torm Gertud tanker in 2007. She started taking on water, and slowly sinking, getting lodged into a local dive site known as "Los Picos".

​

Salvage operations tried to re-float her, but eventually with no luck, cut her into pieces and salvaging all her cargo of scrap metal and removing all her oil. A small section of the 190 metre long tanker, (which is quite a large part in comparison), was left behind, and now forms part of a beautiful wreck to visit.

She lies in 20 - 30 meters on "Los Picos" reef.
