Sherman Tanks

Two Sherman Tanks were left behind after World War II, at Europa Point. During the 1960's they were pushed over the side of the cliff, where we can find them today in just 6 metres of water.

​

One is upside down with it's cupola lying beside. The other tank which was once almost in perfect condition standing upright, was destroyed by a tanker called Fedra, crashing into it in October 2008! Some wreckage from the Fedra lies in close proximity to the two Sherman Tanks.
